Standings

Assessment from Der Loopmeister:

• Dec. 25: Harald the Brave takes the early lead, folloed by W.T. Hatch & Elmarco with the rest trailing badly..
• Dec. 28: The Brave maintains his lead as Elmarco takes over the second spot, W.T. drops to fourth & Shamrock moves to third. Turncoat brings up the rear.
• Dec. 29: Uncanny (!) as the Brave extends his lead with an eight-game winning streak; Shamrock edges out Elmarco for the number two spot. The "18-point" boys remain in the cellar.
• Dec. 30: The streak ends, but the Brave maintains his Number One spot as Elmarco moves ahead of Shamrock for second place. And Turncoat owns the bottom spot.
• Dec. 31: It's the Brave, Elmarco, Shamrock & Wildcat for the first four spots with Turncoat still bringing up the rear as Bagman nudges W.T. into sixth place.
• Jan. 1: Harald the Brave remains in front as Elmarco, Shamrock & Wildcat close the gap. W.T. Hatch also looks better as Bagman -- despite the expenditure of what some say might be quite a sum to hire a professional advisor -- is now in the cellar spot.
• Jan. 2: It's still HtB as Shamrock nudges Elmarco out of second place and W.T. moves into the number four spot just a point behind! (A sore point: How could Auburn blow it after Northwestern missed the extra point?!?)
• Jan. 3: Looks like the Brave has #1 sewed up (& Bagman has a lock on #7), but #'s 2 & 3 money are up for grabs as Wildcat makes his move and takes over second place with Shamrock as #3 & Elmarco pushed down to #4. (Note: How important is a coach? Check with the Texas Tech players!)
• Jan 5: (For some inexplicable reason, Bagman has suggested a slight change in the rules. I quote: "It is low score wins, right? Like in golf???") Meanwhile, the Brave maintains an insurmountable lead as Wildcat keeps the number 2 spot, but dark horse Turncoat edges Shamrock for number 3 and Elmarco prepares for a last minute surge! And W.T. Hatch lurks in the sixth sport. (And guess who's in last place with the lowest score?!?)
• Jan. 7: No change in standings as Central Michign goes down by a half point!
• Jan. 8: (Do you suppose it would be right to subtract points -- say about 12 -- if your star quarterback is injured early on?? No, I suppose not . . . ) Harald the Brave starts strong and maintains that humongous lead as Shamrock takes the Number Two spot and dark hourse Turncoat earns # 3 money.
