Braddock Road Tops Springfield 1-0 in HSGHSL Championship GameLake Braddock Lower Field, June 13, 2004 -- Bridget Brophy scored in the 29th minute on a breakaway to give Brian Conaway's BRYC team a lead that they never relinquished, despite intense pressure from Sandy Cranston's SYC team. Brophy's hard shot from the left side of the goal to the far right post just eluded the outstretched hands of SYC goalie Sarah Spalding.
The Braddock Road team advanced to the finals following a 4-2 victory on June 12 over a Vienna team coached by Cyril May. SYC advanced from the semi-finals with a 4-0 win over a SYC team coached by Don Payne.
