Oresky's BRYC Team Repeats as Spring 2008 HSGHSL Champions
West Springfield High School, June 7, 2008 -- In a tough defensive battle, the Braddock Road Youth Club (BRYC) team coached by Darrell Oresky took top honors in the spring High School Girls House Soccer League (HSGHSL) tourney with a 1-0 victory over a Springfield Youth Club (SYC) team coached by Jim Miller.Oresky's team broke a scoreless tie midway through the second half and then held on against a charging SYC team to take top honors in the season-ending HSGHSL tourney.
Oresky advanced to the finals with a 2-1 win over a Vienna Youth Soccer (VYS) team coached by Mike Mandehzadeh.
Miller's SYC club moved to the finals in another hard-fought battle as they defeated Jerry Stillman's SYC team in penalty kicks (4-1) after a 1-1 score at the end of regulation and two five-minute overtime periods.
